I Had a very great chance to spend a couple of days in Wadi El Gemal along with about 170 persons sharing in "BG Energy challenge" 7-8 December 2007( as a volunteer doctor of the camp). Thanks to all the people working in the park, thanks to "Walid " the owner of the campsite, "Rostom" , "Yakan" , others i don't know their names and all the fabulous Bedouins, I spent marvellous time "walking" in the wadi, "going up" the mountains ","eating" food cooked under fire, nice tents and a wonderful sky at night.
I hope i would have another chance, and those also who will read this.

We spent one of the most enjoyable days of our lives with the tribe on the desert. It was so peaceful and the camel ride back under the stars was breathtaking. The singing by the tribesmen added something special to the already wonderful atmosphere. They had so little but had so much. They were all so obvously happy with their lot. For a housewife on holiday, the half day safari in Wadi el Gemal was the highlight of my week-long stay in Marsa Alam. I will always equate my first (but hopefully not last) visit to Egypt with riding camels in the Red Sea desert under the stars with tribesmen singing us back to the camp.
As soon as I arrived home, I looked up the website in order to show my friends and family what a fantastic experience I had.
Walid, his staff and the tribesmen made us feel more like honoured guests than intruders in their land and home.

I was in the Wadi for a half day escursion last Tuesday sep 20 and in spite of the limited time I could spend there it was such a wonderful experience. The magnificence of the landscape, the silence that surrounded our camel riding at a time of day when colours were showing their fascinating nuances, the sense of community conveyed by our guides made us feel not as tourists but as human beings fully in touch with the magic of nature. We were lucky enough to enjoy the beauty of a starry night and the rising of the full moon and I was really sorry we had not planned to spend the night in the camp! Hopefully I'll be able to return in the near future and stay longer. Tks for the beautiful website!
